Nitriding is a heat treating process that diffuses nitrogen into the surface of the conical twin screw to create a case-hardened surface. It gives excellent corrosion resistance against humid air and water. It is a case hardening process.
How to make the Conical twin screw with nitriding treatment?
Barrelize has its own nitriding furnace in-house. The conical twin screw will be put into the nitriding furnace with nitrogen diffused on its surface under a certain temperature and humidity environment. Barrelize nitrided extrusion screw will be put into the furnace for 5 days and nights. After 5 days of deep nitriding, a nitrided layer with relatively high hardness is formed on the surface of the screw.
What's the specification of Barrelize Nitrided Conical Twin Screw for Extrusion?
The nitrided layer can reach 0.05-0.07mm. The hardness can reach HV950±50or above, equivalent to HRC68~69.
The general advantage of Nitrided Conical Twin Screw: it can improve corrosion resistance and wear resistance.
The main benefits of Nitrided Conical Twin Screw: improve plasticizing rate and increased production.
